KILO’S ROCK LUNCH “MOSH POTATOES MONDAY”

Head here every Monday to grab up a tasty heavy metal recipe tested by yours truly!

Most recipes will be straight out of one of my favorite recipe books, “Mosh Potatoes” by Steve Seabury.

These are tasty eats taken from the mouths and hands of some seriously bad ass rockers!

I’ll try the recipes out before they land here to prove to you that even the lamest of cooks can whip ’em out!

Let’s get started with our first ever “Mosh Potatoes Monday” Meal:

First here’s what we whipped out:
Pasta Terror by Mille of German metal legends, Kreator
2 CUPS PINE NUTS
1 GARLIC CLOVE
1/4 CUP PARMIGIANO DI BUFALA, GRATED
LARGE SPOONFUL BALSAMIC VINEGAR
1/4 CUP EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL
SALT
12 OUNCES OF YOUR FAVORITE PASTA
2 MEDIUM TOMATOES

This was too easy. I had dinner done and on the table in 30 minutes. That’s time for three glasses of wine. Don’t judge.

Before you start cooking…Krank up Kreator!

Step 1: Get your pasta water boiling and oven turned on if you plan on throwing some hot bread in the oven.

Step 2: Glass of wine

Step 3: Roast pine nuts in a large skillet without oil until brown.

Step 4: Proceed with the making of the pesto. Basically all your ingredients minus pasta and tomatoes go in the food processor for this step. I prefer extra cheese and little less pine nuts that this recipe calls for. Pine nuts are expensive right now. You can get away with the same great flavor with about half the pine nuts this recipe calls for. That’s your call though. I made this meal for under $20.

Step 4: After you are done creating your killer pesto jump to your cutting board and get your tomatoes chopped. I went with Roma tomatoes but that’s your call.

Step 5: Glass of wine

Step 6: Once your pasta is done (al dente), drain and pour into your favorite serving bowl. Add pesto and mix well. Top with tomatoes and stir again. Add pepper and salt if you want.

Step 7: More wine

Step 8: Get your bread out of the oven, gather at your table, and eat up! That was easy! Make sure you have your glass of wine.
