Earlier this year Lamb Of God dropped a covers album called Legion: XX under the name Burn The Priest, which was Lamb Of God’s first band name. The band covered tracks from the Melvins to Bad Brains and more. They just released a music video from their cover of Ministry’s Jesus Built My Hotrod. The video gets weird with aliens, a mad max road scene and, of course, a hotrod! Take a look! For more Hump The Covers Off check out my blog...read more

Disturbed is back and throwing down a new track called Are You Ready? and they announced a new album, Evolution, coming our way in Rocktober. I have featured Disturbed a few times, as they have done a metric ton of covers in their career, but here is one that I haven’t done yet, a cover of Judas Priest’s Living After Midnight. You can find this version of off Disturbed’s 2011 release The Lost Children and the original goes all the way back to 1980 off of the Priest album British Steel. With Slayer riding off into the sunset on their final North American tour this year, which includes a stop in Denver on Saturday, I thought it best that I pay tribute to the band with another one of their covers. Which is appropriate here because Slayer’s version of the track is found in a rather unexpected place, a compilation released by NASCAR in 2002 called NASCAR: Crank It Up. The album features covers, remixes and original tunes from a...read more
Last Thursday the Pumpkins stopped in New Jersey of all places to do a 30th anniversary show and they loaded up the set list with a lot of special guests. One of the more interesting combos was Mark McGrath, yeah of Sugar Ray, coming out to join the Pumpkins for a cover of Judas Priest’s Breaking The Law. There were so many other great moments from the show so I have loaded up a ton of them below, check them out. Then catch the Pumpkins at the Pepsi Center on September 5th, but don’t worry Courtney Love probably won’t be...read more
10 Years is making their third stop on tour in Colorado this year at the Black Sheep on Sunday. Tune in all day tomorrow as we dish out free tix! 10 Years is not known for doing covers so when I found this cover of Nirvana’s Heart Shaped Box I was pleasantly surprised. The band has been playing the track on tour for a little while and included a studio version on their latest album How To Live (As Ghosts) as a bonus track available only on copies sold at Best Buy, yes before Best Buy stopped selling CD’s. Check out 10 Years’...read more
