This is my last weekend at 94.3 KILO. It’s been an Oz-some ride. Thank you for listening!

“Killing Yourself to Live” is a track off of Black Sabbath’s fifth studio album Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, released in December 1973. One of my favorites that I am sure had a totally different meaning for the Sab 4, since at this point in their career they were all deep into substance abuse and fatigued. Still I can relate. Sometimes in life we gotta do what we gotta do to make ends meet and survive. Like working our asses off holding down 2 to 3 different jobs all for minimum wage, struggling every day but yet we go on fighting the good fight. However in the process we are slowly killing ourselves in the grind and we aren’t even living anymore we are just slaves to the dollar. And let’s face, in the end we can’t take it with us! But then again maybe we are doing it all so our families can have a better life. But will they when we’re gone? Take the time to live my friends we only get one chance at this!

“Road to Nowhere” is from 1991’s No More Tears, Ozzy’s sixth solo studio album. Co-written with longtime guitarist Zakk Wylde and the late great Randy Castillo, Ozzy’s drummer at the time.

In the song, Ozzy is looking back on his life and the mistakes he’s made. He still finds life a mystery… and he’s still searching for the answers, “the meaning of life” if you will. This is a reflection on Ozzy’s real life. He had just gone sober after over 20 years of drug and alcohol abuse. also his manager.

And I think we can all relate to this one, am I right? We have all pondered why we are here and what is our purpose? Are we stuck in a dead end job, do we drink too much, have we too made a lot of bad past decisions that put us in the predicament we are in today? And even if all of that is true, would we really change anything if given a second chance? Well I can’t speak for you but pretty sure at times I would have done things differently, that’s for damn sure! But then again that’s how we learn those valuable lessons in life. Through our experiences, whether good or bad. Just remember that no matter what if you don’t like where you are at, “There’s still time to change the road you’re on.”

“Life Won’t Wait” is one of three singles released from Scream, Ozzy’s last and most recent solo album as of 2018. It came out back in June 2010.

I would say this one is pretty self explanatory. Life won’t wait on you so… live it to the fullest before it passes you by! Take chances, try new things, start completing your bucket list now! Before time runs out on you!
