BLOW IT OUT YOUR OZ: 2/10/18

The Prince of Darkness is finally ready to retire! But not without one final world tour. Again.

Yes, he announced a “final” tour once before due to a MS misdiagnosis, but this time around, the metal madman promises that “No More Tours 2” is, in fact, his last go ’round. The world that is. He isn’t opposed to still performing one off shows here and there.

Here’s the deal, Ozzy is almost seventy, he has been rocking and touring for five decades and he says he that he has really missed his family over the years and just wants to spend time with them while still in his golden years. Can’t blame him for that.

Ozzy will be backed on the tour by longtime collaborators, guitarist Zakk Wylde, bassist Blasko, drummer Tommy Clufetos and Adam Wakeman on keyboards. Stone Sour will be the supporting band on the bill. No More Tours 2 is set to kick off with a pair of festival shows in Florida – Jacksonville’s Welcome to Rockville and Fort Lauderdale’s FortRock on April 27 and 29 respectively – before he singer jets off across Central and South America, and Europe before heading back to the US. Get a full list of dates below.

code> “Let Me Hear You Scream” was the lead single from Scream, Ozzy’s eleventh and most recent studio album that was released back in June of 2010. The album is the only one to feature guitarist Gus G, who replaced long-term partner-in-crime, Zakk Wylde.

Ozzy shares Israel’s birth year of 1948, so it’s only fitting that on the cusp of his seventieth, the Prince of Darkness will be travelling to the Holy Land to tear the roofless house down at Rishon LeZion’s open-air Live Park! And Ozzy is making this a family affair as Sharon, Kelly and Jack will be joining him on few dates. Especially for the Israel gig!

“Children of the Grave” is of course a cover of the Black Sabbath classic by Stone Sour. The track appears on the Meanwhile in Burbank… EP released in April 2015. It was the first in what was to be a trilogy of EP’s featuring only cover songs by the band all featuring Burbank in the title. So far only two have been released, Meanwhile and Straight Outta Burbank. Also released in 2015. November of that year. Hopefully we’ll see the third one some time this year.
